Polpetto will open at the following times during the festive period:

  • Christmas Eve: 11.30am - 10.30pm
  • Christmas Day: closed
  • Boxing Day - 11.30am - 10.30pm
  • Wednesday 27th and Thursday 28th December: 11.30am - 11pm
  • Friday 29th December: 11.30am - 12am
  • Saturday 30th December: 11.30am - 12am
  • Sunday 31st December: 11.30am - 12am
  • Monday 1st January: 11.30am - 10.30pm

The Story

Polpetto opened in 2010 and originally occupied the first floor of the French House pub on Dean Street. It attracted critical acclaim (“amazingly good... flawless... perfect” - The Telegraph) and gained a massive following of fans. But the venue proved too small and the restaurant’s 24 seats were always oversubscribed. It closed in May 2012.

After a year of searching for the right location, Russell Norman and Richard Beatty have relocated the restaurant to Berwick Street. The venue boasts 60 seats, an aperitivo bar, an open kitchen and a chef’s table.

Our bar seats are always first-come, first-served. So even if we are fully booked at lunch or dinner time, please do turn up for the (whisper it) best seats in the house.
